A MOVEMENT IN WATER / PUBLIC ART

A Movement in Water™ is an interactive traveling "museum" immersing the visitor in transformative experiences, creating deeper reverence for oneself and water. A Movement in Water™ has, at its foundation, the new scientific discoveries of water.

This global art installation is innovative in art, architecture, technology, education, and science. A Movement in Water™ will make a difference regarding our most precious resource. This project makes relating to water deeply personal, tangible, as well as spiritual.

Recognizing the unique value of A Movement in Water™, the project was selected by the Buckminster Fuller Institute’s Design Science Studio, an art incubator.

Gina Bria, collaborating with Cohen, is the founder of The Hydration Foundation, a non-profit organization grounded on advancing the new science of water to transform the health and well being of people, plants, and soil, offering solutions for agriculture and for greater food and water security.

RAIN DANCE

Rain Dance pays tribute to and is a collaboration with the Pueblo of Arizona. We will make a 360’ video of their tribal water dance, integrating elders’ knowledge of how they bring down the rain.

Starting with photographs, videos, and paintings made on the reservation and enhanced with mixed reality goggles, the viewer will feel the arid environment and that water we take for granted is not taken for granted in other parts of the world. Users will then enter a room re-creating the landscapes of Arizona during the rain dance, where they will put on a haptic vest along with traditional indigenous dress to participate in a rain dance together with the tribe.

Participants are encouraged to follow along with the volumetric capture of the Pueblo performing the rain dance. The rain comes and the participants feel the rain hit their bodies through the haptic vest and see, hear, and smell the environment come alive.

Working with sound, science, sculpture, installation, photography, new video cameras, painting, and XR, we are creating something never seen before. By synthesizing these elements, the viewer is transformed physiologically and psychologically. Bio-responsive art demonstrates that our thoughts impact our biology.

Our mission is to create wonder and joy, while inspiring the viewer’s respect for indigenous wisdom and reverence for water.
