LOOK WITHIN
LOOK WITHIN is a 6-minute video that plays on a an endless loop.
It features Mary Abrams doing a very specific intonation with her
breath and voice that changes one's physiology.
An object of beauty in it's own right, this vanity is satin stainless steel
with the top and drawer made of mirror. An indentation for easy opening, the
drawer will hold a DVD and cables for the video. The three mirrors on top are
hinged to each other, so the side mirrors can be adjusted to the viewers liking.
Each mirror contains a flat plasma screen and the side mirrors contain speakers for
the video's sound. When the video is not playing the side mirrors can close covering
the middle mirror. Their backs are also mirror, so that the vanity is very pleasing
to the eye when closed. A stool of stainless steel with satin finish supports an
ottoman like top of pastel colored soft leather.
A video wall sculpture: The 6 minute video on a continuous loop,
LOOK WITHIN plays on a plasma screen inserted in a round wall mirror.
From afar you see the ever-moving video. Walk up close to examine the
picture on the screen as you would a painting and have your physiology
altered. Tentacles extending out from the mirror create a mesmerizing surround sound.
